Puspa M. Das, Ph.D. is a New York State Licensed Psychologist. She treats adolescents and adult men and women of all ages, as well as, couples and families. Dr. Das provides treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions such as adjustment disorders, mood disorders and anxiety disorders including Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Dr. Das also has specific training and experience
in addressing the interface between medical conditions and psychosocial problems
to chronic illness, women’s health issues and the management of chronic pain. She provides treatment for related problems that can be triggered by
these conditions including depression and other mood disorders, anxiety
disorders, adjustment disorders, and grief and loss. Dr. Das also conducts pre-surgical evaluations for medical procedures including bariatric surgery and spinal cord stimulator implantation.
Dr. Das graduated from Guilderland Central High School. She completed her education at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY) earning a Bachelor of Arts, a Masters Degree in Counseling, a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling. and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 2005. She completed her Pre-doctoral Internship at the Buffalo VA Medical Center with a focus on Primary Care, Behavioral Medicine and Chronic Pain management. Dr. Das completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Primary Care Family Psychology with a concentration in Women’s Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center/Strong Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Das was the Director of Master’s Training in Counseling Psychology at the University at Albany, SUNY from 2007-2009. She worked
at the Syracuse VA Medical Center as a Psychologist in
Integrated Primary Care and Women’s Health
prior to joining Capital Psychology. in 2012. Dr. Das teaches graduate courses as an adjunct faculty member in Counseling Psychology at the University at Albany, SUNY.
